Senior Living Communities
Dignified safety monitoring for senior living. Automated doors and emergency pull cords for independent living facilities.
Security Solutions for Senior Living Communities
Senior living and independent living communities require a delicate approach to security—one that respects the independence of residents while acknowledging their potential physical vulnerabilities. Sewak Security provides technology that supports aging in place. We automate heavy doors with hands-free openers to ensure accessibility for those with walkers or wheelchairs. In apartments, we can install emergency pull cords in bathrooms and bedrooms that alert on-site staff immediately in case of a fall or crisis. Our video systems monitor entrances and parking areas to protect residents from scammers or intruders, without invading the privacy of their homes. We create a secure, accessible environment that gives residents the confidence to live independently and their families the assurance that help is available if needed.
Common Threats
Resident Wandering
Residents with dementia or Alzheimer's are at risk of wandering out of safe zones, potentially into traffic or cold weather. Traditional locked doors can feel like a prison, distressing residents and families.
Visitor Accountability
Controlling who visits vulnerable residents is crucial. Staff need to know if a visitor is in the building after visiting hours, or if a barred individual attempts to enter.
The Security Fix
Wander Management Systems
We use discreet wristbands that work with door controllers. If a resident approaches an exit, the door gently locks or notifies a nurse. This allows residents freedom of movement within the facility while preventing unsafe egress.
Incident Review Cameras
We place cameras in hallways and common areas to review falls or altercations. This objective evidence protects staff from false accusations of neglect and provides families with answers if an injury occurs.
